Because we are treading in some new territory with the explosion of tools available to us, it's important that we navigate carefully.  Understandably, parents (and teachers) are frightened by the wholesale unleashing of tools about which we don't fully understand the potential pitfalls.  Keeping this in mind, it's important that we learn as much as possible about the tools before we introduce them into our classrooms.

Our district is currently working on a policy for teachers, students and parents that outlines the acceptable use of online tools in education.  Until it's developed, here is an example that was created by Edina Public Schools.
